It is the most common scenario, and usually, people claim two-wheeler insurance when this happens to them. The second scenario could be where you got into an accident and you caused damage to another party or their vehicle. And you can also claim two-wheeler insurance when your vehicle gets stolen.
But in today’s post, we’ll be talking about the very first scene as an example to let you know the whole process of claiming two-wheeler insurance. Talking about the coverage thing, you’ll rarely get the full coverage for the damages, but you can expect your insurer to pay for the majority of damage repair expenses. However the insurance coverage also depends upon who your insurer is, that’s why it is important to buy a two-wheeler insurance policy from a trusted insurer or insurance provider.

- All Documents Of RC Holder
If you have all these documents by your side then you are good to go. Just follow the step-by-step process to successfully claim two-wheeler insurance.
Step-By-Step Process On How To Claim Two-Wheeler Insurance
- When you get into an accident, and your vehicle gets damaged, then the first thing you need to do is to take your vehicle to the two-wheeler agency or dealer where you bought it from. In case that’s not possible, then you can take it to the nearby two-wheeler of the same brand or company.
- Next, you’d have to apply for the two-wheeler insurance claim, and for that, the dealer or agency people will ask for some documents that we have already listed in this post above.
- After that, the two-wheeler agency or dealer will file the claim on your behalf and will send the file to your insurer.
- Now the actual insurance claim approval process starts, within 48 to 72 hours the insurer must respond to the filed claim, and then they’ll start inspection of your vehicle. It could be that the insurer sends a person to inspect your vehicle, or they might also ask for photographs of your vehicle from the dealer or vehicle agency.
- Once the two-wheeler claim file gets approved, the two-wheeler agency or dealer will inform you and start repairing your vehicle.
- When the repair of your vehicle is complete, the dealer or vehicle agency will contact you regarding the delivery. You’d have to visit the agency and pay for the repair cost out of your own pocket. But don’t worry, based on the insurance claim, you’ll get a considerable percentage of the repair cost back in your bank account.
- After you pay the repair cost at the two-wheeler agency, the dealer or agency people will then send the payment details to your insurer. And within one to two weeks, your insurance claim amount will be credited to your bank account.
In the majority of cases, if there is a delay in your claim approval or anything like that, the vehicle agency and dealer have nothing to do with that. They just upload or send the documents to the insurer as soon as they get all the documents and details from you.
Now, you may not get the full amount of the repair cost back to your bank account and that is because when the agency people send your vehicle for repair, it is not just the damaged part that gets replaced. There could be other things that need to be changed which has nothing to do with the accidental damage. The vehicle agency will for sure add an additional expense to the payment sheet, but your insurer may not provide a claim for that.
