Essay on my favorite hobby

Introduction

Hobbies are such activities which we regularly undertake to escape the daily stress of work and life. These are such activities which provide us the peace of mind and pleasure at the same time. We need such activities which are different from the regular ones we perform so that our mind gets more stimulation to perform better. At times the regular mundane tasks make us bored and these hobbies help in generating our interest in activities and that too with innovation.  It gives us a drive to perform better rather than running away from something. It is an activity that a person undertakes in her or her spare time.

Importance of hobby

You might have heard of an old saying “Idle Mind is Devil’s workshop” therefore a hobby keeps us occupied and deviated from the negative things around. You can have many hobbies and basically they are very important as well because you learn from these hobbies too. These days’ people are only busy in earning and making a living. Due to which their lives are very monotonous and mechanical. This is where the importance of hobby is realized as we enjoy doing these things and it rejuvenates our mind to a great extent.  There are some people who undertake their hobbies as full time profession. They lead a very comfortable choice as they enjoy their hobby for a long time. These people tend to be very creative and innovative in nature. Another important factor of having a hobby is that it improves our character and personality.

My favorite Hobby

There are a lot of hobbies that people can undertake such as bird watching, sports, stamp collecting, music and photography. But my favorite hobby is travelling. It has made my outlook change towards life. I travel alone or at times with my family and friends. I have also made a lot of friends while travelling. It made me learn a lot of things about cultures of different places and it made my time worthwhile. I have an insight on almost all the elements around me and my experiences have only grown manifolds. Whenever I get time and a chance I just embark on a new journey for a new destination. Recently me and my friends visited Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh. We went there for four days and it was a very exciting journey. We went to the temple of His Highness Dalai Lama in McLeodganj. We explored the Bhagsu falls and the famous cricket stadium of Dharamshala along with other places of interest in Dharamshala and adjoining places. I met a lot of natives and got to know the culture of this place. This place is thronged by tourists all through the year. You would find lot of foreign tourists as well. It is a very famous place in the northern India. I have visited many parts of India such as Rajastha, Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and even Mumbai and Trivandrum.

Conclusion

Hobbies are very interesting and very scintillating. Also it does not trespass other people’s rights. I feel great that I make good use of my free hours and free time.
