Srinagar is a beautiful city and it is also the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The city is located in Kashmir Valley and it lies on River Jhelum. The city is very well-known for its gardens, houseboats, and lakes. It is also very famous for the traditional Kashmiri handicrafts and also the dry fruits. The word Srinagar comes from the Sanskrit word and according to the History, the Empire Ashoka has founded the city Srinagar. The city is located on either side of the Jhelum and the river passes through the city and it adds on to the glory of the city and makes it glorified. The city is also very famous for its nine bridges and dal lake.

There are many tourists spots in Srinagar and the city is also one of the most visited cities in the country. It is also called as the heaven on Earth. There are many places in Kashmir and they are called as Kashmiri Venice and there are many houseboats as well which are present on the Dal Lake and the Nagin Lake. The city also has some Mughal gardens, which were created during the Mughal empire. There are many fountains, Palace of the fairies, Nishat Bagh, Naseem Bagh and Shalimar Bagh. The Tulip Garden is also now made Public.

The city has beautiful places to visit and it is a must visit a place at least once in your lifetime. Nowadays the state is mostly surrounded by army guards due to the increase in terrorism and people are not allowed to step out of their houses after certain hours. The people living in Kashmir are warm and they love their city. The people of the city want nothing but peace and they demand support from the people across the country.
