Delhi Public School Vindhyanagar was established in August 1986. The school is a joint venture of the DPS Educational Society and NTPC. It is affiliated to the CBSE Ajmer region. The junior wing of the school has 11 sections while the senior wing of the school has 40 sections. DPS Vindyanagar is also recognized as one of the best schools in the country.
Admissions 2019-20
DPS Vindhyanagar has released the admission notice for LKG, Prep, I, II, V, VI and VIII for the 2019-20 academic session. Registration forms have been distributed since 5th December. The last date of distribution of registration forms is 10th January 2018. The deadline for submission of completed registration forms to the school is 15th January 2019.
For admissions to LKG and Prep, verification of the forms and informal interaction with the parents and the students would be organized by the school on 20th January 2018. Timing is from 10 am onwards. For admissions to Classes I, II, V and VIII, the school would conduct an entrance test and interview. The date for the same is 10th February 2018 from 9am to 12pm.
Required age
The required age as on 31st March 2019 for admissions to different standards have been listed here.
LKG- 3+ years but less than 4 years
Prep- 4+ years but less than 5 years
Class I- 5+ years but less than 6 years
Class V-VIII- The required age is the Standard+4 years. For example, the required age for Class V is V+4 which equals to 9 years.
School Infrastructure
The Primary Wing has digital classes called smart classes to enable visual learning for the young students. The EVS lab provides an opportunity to the children to conduct experiments. Mathematics lab helps in practical learning of the subject. There is also a value education laboratory to teach moral values to the children.
The school has a state-of-art computer lab equipped with internet and large enough to accommodate about 40-50 students. The lab also has projectors and white boards. The IT department of the school regularly conducts inter house IT competitions and workshops. The school participates in National level IT competitions and has also won many awards in such events.
The school also has well-equipped laboratories for various subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Geography and Environmental Science. The labs have everything required for practical knowledge such as models, charts, specimens, equipments, chemicals, apparatuses, etc. Overhead projectors are also present in the laboratories.
DPS Vindhyanagar has extensive facilities for playing a number of sports. The school has won many sports championships over the years. The pre-primary wing of the school also has a play room with many indoor games, see-saw and other equipments.
The school library has more than 9000 books in the collection with hundreds of titles, magazines, comics, etc. The library can accommodate 60 students at a time. Other infrastructure facilities include a music room and museum.
