My City Hyderabad is the capital of Telangana and also the de jure capital of Andhra Pradesh. Both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana share the city and it is the common capital between the two states. Earlier Telangana and Andhra Pradesh was just one state and was known as Andhra Pradesh, but due to the differences and culture amongst the people, the state was divided into two parts. Hyderabad is the fourth most populated city and the sixth most populated agglomeration in the country. The city is built on the hilly terrain and has a lot of artificial lakes. It is a very beautiful city and is also fully developed. The city was earlier known as the city of trading and of diamonds. The diamonds of this region were extremely famous and is also famous till date.
History
Hyderabad was established in the year 1591 by Muhammad QuliQutb Shah. He ruled the city for a century before the Mughals captured it and started ruling. The Nizams of Hyderabad was created in the year 1724 by Asif Jah, who was the viceroy of the Mughal dynasty. The Nizams later became the princely state and ruled the region. The city was under the princely ruled till the British came into power. The monuments and historical sites are still under the name of Qutb Shah, which is very much visible. The city was then ruled by the British. After independence, Hyderabad became the capital of Andhra Pradesh. But in 2014, Hyderabad became the capital of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana; a state separated from Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad will serve as the joint capital of the two states until the year 2025 as this arrangement will end in that year.

My City Hyderabad has a lot to offer when it comes to art and culture. It is also the center of culture and it rose as one after the fall of Delhi. The city celebrates many festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Bonalu, Diwali, Eid and other festivals. It has a cultural mix because of the mixing with the North. The city is also the hub of entertainment and the Telugu film industry is very big. The youth are educated and have a modern lifestyle. The city is also famous for the poems and the poetic symposia, known as mushairas. The city has a very Nawabi feel to it. The city also conducts various literature festivals where people from across the country participate. The Bharat Natyam and Kuchipudi are the famous dance forms in this region. The Qawwali, a form of music is extremely famous in this region. The city also conducts a lot of music and dance festivals. The paintings especially the decani paintings are extremely famous across the world. the food of Hyderabad is also very famous and people drool over the Hyderabadi Biryani. Hyderabad has a cultural milieu and is a brilliant city.
Language
The language spoken in Hyderabad is Urdu and Telugu, which are also the official languages of Telangana.
