Election means to elect or select someone and in regards to Election in India, it means choosing or selecting a candidate to run the affairs of the government. Usually in democratic countries like ours, elections take place to form a government which is of the people, by the people and for the people. Representatives are chosen by the people.
In India, the general elections occur every five years. Citizens who are 18 years of age and above hold the right to vote.
