Admission process
Registration commences from the second week of December and continues till January. A written test is conducted for students seeking admission into various standards of the school. The entrance test features questions from English, Hindi and Mathematics. In case of admissions to Nursery, the children are interviewed by the Principal and the teachers along with their parents. Written test and interviews are conducted during the months of February and March. A list of students selected for admission is displayed on the notice board of the school. The new session commences from the first working day of April.
School infrastructure
The school library has over 9000 books spanning encyclopedias, novels, children’s story books, journals, magazines, etc. The library can accommodate 64 students at a time. Students are allowed to read books in the library from Class II onwards. Books are issued to the students of Class IV and above. Parents can also become members of the library by paying a fee. The library is open for parents on Wednesdays and Fridays between 5 to 6 pm.
Well-equipped laboratories for all the branches of Science are present in the school. Computer labs are also present for imparting high quality Computer education.
Other activities
The school has a large playground and facilities for playing a number of sports such as cricket, basketball, lawn tennis, hockey, football and much more. Games are also played in the evenings after school hours. Inter house and Inter class sports competitions are regularly organised by the school.
The Social Service Club of the school known as YESS, short for Youth Engaged in Social Service, is engaged in a plethora of social service works. The club regularly organises camps and holds rallies.
Rules and regulations regarding promotion to next class
In case of Classes I to VII, promotion is granted on the basis of marks obtained throughout the year. 20% weight age is given to weekly tests, 30% to half yearly examination and 50% to the annual examination.
For classes IX and XI, performance in first, second and third terminal examinations are given equal preference.
The students may be issued blue, red or yellow card due to indiscipline or bad academic performance. Students can be terminated from the school on the grounds of bad behaviour, unsatisfactory progress and repeated detention in a class.
Awards
The school awards Chairman’s/Principal’s trophies to toppers of board examinations. Best student awards are also presented to best performing students from Primary, Middle and Senior Wing of the school. Scholar ties are also awarded to meritorious students.
Many types of medals and trophies are also awarded to students excelling in various sports.
