Admissions
Admissions for Classes Nursery to IX for the 2019-20 academic session are now open. The registration form can be obtained from the school website. The last date for submission of registration forms is 31/01/19. The forms can be submitted online. More information about the admission process can be obtained from the school website.
School infrastructure
The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. The Physics laboratory is equipped with high-grade instruments and working models. There is also a library in the lab containing Physics books. The Chemistry laboratory has all the requisite chemicals and apparatuses for even graduate level studies. The Biology laboratory features everything from latest microscopes to specimens. The lab also has a separate chemical stock. The Computer lab features many desktops equipped with internet, LCD show, multimedia, networking and more.
The school library has a collection of more than 20,000 books related to diverse topics apart from national and international journals, periodicals and magazines. Separate sections are present for reference and reading. The library also features a large collection of CDs and audio cassettes on a range of topics and subjects.
The school has a large Multipurpose hall with a capacity of 2000. The hall is used for hosting various events and celebrations along with indoor sporting championships. The school gymnasium is equipped with many types of exercise equipments to enable the students to remain in shape. The school also has a mini clinic equipped with modern medical equipments and medicines. Regular medical camps by eminent doctors are organised by the school on a quarterly basis.
Extracurricular activities
The school playground is huge and also features many other facilities such as tennis court, football ground, cricket pitch, volleyball ground, etc. Facilities for playing various indoor games are also provided by the school.
Regular classes of instrumental as well as vocal music are held in the school. The children are taught to play instruments such as tabla, guitar, keyboard, drum and many more. They are also taught classical music. The school holds dance classes for various dance forms such as Bharat Natyam, Kathakali, Kuchipudi, Manipuri and others. The students participate in various music and dance programs all over the country.
The department of art and craft of DPS Nazira holds classes of clay modeling, puppet making, sand painting, etc. Drawing competitions are regularly held in the school to polish the artistic capabilities of the students. The school also lays emphasis on creative writing by way of competitions such as story writing, slogan writing, poem writing, essay writing, etc.
